It’s my favorite day of the week again. I love Fridays for both the excitement of finishing up a week and starting a weekend with my little crew (and hopefully sleeping past 6:00). Anything you’re looking forward to this weekend?
This week’s 5 on Friday features some of the things that piqued my interest this week: a favorite dress on clearance, a fun Halloween mantle, delicious fall treats, pantry organization essentials, and beautiful holiday dresses.
One of my favorite fall dresses is now on clearance for 40% off. I was planning a whole post about it, but I’m afraid it’s going to sell out quickly. I love the blue and marigold print, and this is a piece you can easily dress up or down.
LOFT often surprises me with fabulous tops and dresses. Here are a few I have my eye on, and several of these are marked down.
I am so inspired, however, by Courtney from A Thoughtful Place. She created this simple black and white Halloween mantel with things from Michael’s. Isn’t it fun?! I’ve featured her projects before because I’m always so inspired by her–be sure to visit and say “hello!”
One of the ways we signal “It’s Fall!” at my house is to bake Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins. I’ve made literally hundreds of batches of these, and they are perfect every time.
Bake at least a double batch for yourself this weekend and then treat your neighbors and friends to these delicious treats.
Some of you caught me organizing my pantry this weekend on my Instagram Story. Every 6-8 weeks, I completely empty it, discard anything expired (and all those bags of chip crumbs), wipe down the shelves, and then put everything back in order. It’s a tedious task, but always worth it.
With three kids, my pantry is never picture perfect, but I do have some favorite products that help keep it organized. And please excuse the quality of these pics. They were taken before I knew how to use my good camera 🙂
—Airtight containers– After battling pantry moths one too many times, I’ve learned the importance of storing food in airtight containers. I use these for pastas, dried fruits and veggies, and grains like rice and quinoa.
—Baskets with handles– Baskets keep things organized, and the handles make them easier to use. I love these for mixes, tea bags, chocolate chips, and ice cream sundae toppings.
—Stackable bins– A couple of years ago, I made a snack station out of these stackable bins. My kids (and their friends) love being able to grab and go easily, and being able to see everything helps me know when we’re running low on something. I have the large size, and I made my own labels using this tutorial. Total game changer!
Did you know there are only 75 days until Christmas? Okay, maybe that sounds like a lot, but it will be here before we know it. In the weeks leading up to that, I’m sure you’re going to have some fun holiday parties or maybe even weddings to attend. If you do, you’ll need something fabulous to wear.
I did a little hunting for you (and for me), and goodness, there are so many beautiful holiday dresses. You’ll see lots of lace, velvet, and deep jewel tones this holiday season.
This dress has been on my radar for a few weeks, and my sister reported that it is amazing. She’s normally an XS and needed a small–so you might also need to order up. Oh, and you can’t be the price.
I was also excited to find this dress–a velvet version of one of my longtime favorites. You can see it in this post, which may also be helpful if you’re planning your Christmas card pictures and can’t decide what to wear. More fun finds:
Enjoy your weekend, friends! Ours is a long one, as the kids are out of school on Monday for Fair Day. Yep, Dallas kids have a “holiday” to attend the State Fair of Texas for “free.” While I do appreciate the free ticket, I’ll be shelling out way too much $$$ for all the fair food and those darn midway games…follow the fun on my IG Story!
