How’s your week, friends? After two weeks of letting my kids sleep in and ease into summer break, I instituted chores and summer reading this week. It’s been…an adjustment. But, we’ve also had several water balloon fights, made root beer floats, hosted a sleepover, watched movies, and played board games. I’ve found early mornings are the best time to work on blog posts–it’s quiet, and I can squeeze in a good bit of work before the house comes to life.
I’m trying to finish up a Father’s Day gift guide for you, but in the meantime I thought I’d quickly share some fun summer trends that I’ve been loving lately. Adding a piece or two (or three) to your closet is a great way to freshen things up for summer. You can see the last Loving Lately post here. I’m actually still loving all of those things, as well.
Remember that fabulous scalloped tank from my summer tops post? And that scalloped suit from Saturday Shopping? Scallops are still hot this season and add an interesting detail to the hem of just about anything.
Embroidered tops, dresses, shoes, bags–you can’t go wrong with beautiful embroidery.
One of my favorite outfits for as long as I can remember has been a chambray shirt and white jeans. This chambray shirt is my go-to, and right now, I’m hooked on these under $60 distressed white jeans that are lighter weight and great for summer. Be sure to order a size down. Here are more chambray finds:
Pineapples, cherries, and more–fruit is so fun for summer.
Yes, pom poms and tassels are still going strong. There are so many cute clothes, shoes, and accessories featuring these little embellishments.
